Intake Process

Take the first steps toward a new job

If you're ready for new job skills, the Division of Workforce Development and Life Long Learning (WDLL) is ready for you! It's easy to get started. Follow the procedure set forth below and join us to Achieve Your Dream!

New Students

  1. Attend an Information Session & CASAS Testing

At this event, you’ll learn more about the Workforce Development opportunities at UDC-CC.  Directly after the Info Session you’ll be able to take the CASAS Assessment, which is a required reading comprehension & math assessment.  Please review the Info Session & CASAS testing schedule for days and times for each site.

  1. Make an appointment to meet with an Intake Advisor during the next Registration Period

After the CASAS assessment, you’ll have an opportunity to make an appointment to return for intake advising and registration.  If you do not make an appointment directly after the CASAS test, please call the site where you’d like to register to make an appointment. 

  1. Gather Registration Documentation 

The documents listed here are required for all WDP students.  Bring all of your required documentation to your appointment.

  1. Attend your Intake Advising appointment 

You’ll meet with WDP staff member to discuss your education and career goals.  The result will be your courses for registration.  Please bring all your registration documents to this appointment.

  1. Register for classes

At your Intake Advising appointment, a WDP staff member will review your documentation and register you for class.  You will not be able to register if you do not have all of your documentation. 

  1. Attend New Student Orientation

All new students are required to attend an orientation at the site where they will be attending courses.  The date and time will be provided to registered students. 

Returning Students

  1. Schedule an appointment to meet with your Student Success Specialist.

Other information:

  • The Course Catalog contains descriptions of all our courses
  • The Class Schedule provides a list of courses currently available
  • Each WDP course has a minimum CASAS score for enrollment.  If you do not initially assess at the required level for your program of interest, our staff will recommend the appropriate next steps which include an additional assessment and/or skill-building training.  The minimum CASAS scores for each course can be found here.
