The Office of Community-based Learning, Research, and Service announces its new Civic Engagement Corp (CEC). The Civic Engagement Corp is focused on engaging UDC students in better understanding community and social issues through service learning and community service. This is an exciting opportunity to connect the University and community. In addition, the program would help develop civically engaged students as well as empowering both participants and the entire student body on/off campus.
The Civic Engagement Corp will consist of students who will serve as Project Leaders and corp members. These student leaders will spearhead efforts around identifying, planning, and executing service projects throughout the academic year. We are currently recruiting 10-12 candidates for the CEC Project Leaders. This is a stipend position. We are looking to convene our student leadership team in the coming weeks.
If you are aware students who might be a good fit for this opportunity, please pass on this information or refer them to our office. We will be reviewing applicants and making selections in the coming weeks. If you are aware any students who might be a good fit for this program, we ask that you share this information with them. The application deadline is Tuesday, July 6th.
